Synopsis
Four
modern 11-year-old girls ask “who are we and what will we become?”
They journey to the past to explore their futures by becoming four historical
American women heroes: Elizabeth
Cady Stanton, Amelia Bloomer, Louisa May Alcott, and Amelia Earhart. These four
women meet each other in the Afterlife, and after “catching up”
with one another, dancing and singing, Amelia Bloomer eagerly suggests, “maybe
we’re to relive what it meant to be 11!” Each woman travels back
in time with the help of the others to relive an important moment from her 11-year-old
girlhood. There are heartbreaking moments, as when Elizabeth Cady Stanton’s
father asks her, “why couldn’t you have been born a boy?”
or Louisa May Alcott deals with her fighting parents by writing it all down.
Other episodes are hilarious and exciting as when Amelia Earhart plummets down
a homemade rollercoaster! When the women gather again, they reflect on their
dreams and where they journeyed after the all-important age of 11. Ultimately
Heroic Women imagine what the Heroic Girlz of today might learn from them.
